is there a way to plantext-edit the .dat files?
i would like to play "what if" and change some shipstats/bonuses

anyone has an idea how to edit the dat files so i can play around with different grid and cpu stats for ships?

shouldn't low friction nozzle joints decrease align time?
currently they don't. bug?
and Gripen, is there a way to edit the ship values in the database (text editor or somesuch)? i would like playing around with ships giving them a higher grid, other cpu values and the like.

the characters are in the characters folder, you can easily edit those files with a standard text editor (like notepad) and copy them around.
ot: that way i made a different skill files for all skills at 2, 3 and 4 for comparison

you can do this by drag&dropping the respective modules onto the projected effects of a second ship. you can than read the new defense values and the new cap regen in the ships stats you used to drop the modules on.
